Bridgeland Community Achieves Stage 2 Drought Recovery Goals; Reverts to Stage 1 Voluntary Restrictions

Stage 2 of the Drought Contingency Plan (“DCP”) for the Bridgeland community was implemented on August 29, 2023. The target for Stage 2 was a 20% water usage reduction. We are happy to report that the target for Stage 2 has been achieved for 7 straight days. Therefore, Stage 2 of the DCP and related mandatory water use restrictions are rescinded.

Please be advised that, with the rescission of Stage 2, Stage 1 of the DCP goes back into effect. As a reminder, the target for Stage 1 is a 10% water usage reduction through voluntary means.

We encourage residents to continue irrigating on alternate days (Even addresses Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday; Odd addresses Saturday, Monday Wednesday). For more information on how to program your sprinkler controller, please visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUoir-wk2Yc or your MUD District websites (Bridgeland Districts).

Please reach out to Inframark’s Customer Service department at (281) 579-4500 if you have any questions or concerns. The MUD Districts would like to thank residents for their cooperation.

Bridgeland Drought Contingency Stage 2 Notice

On July 20, 2023, Stage 1 of the Drought Contingency Plan (DCP) for the Bridgeland community was implemented. The target was to achieve a 10% reduction in water use through voluntary means. We thank the community for its participation and efforts. Unfortunately, the dry, hot weather has persisted.

Due to high demand on the regional water system serving the Bridgeland community, we are implementing Stage 2 of the DCP. The target of Stage 2 is to achieve a 20% reduction in water use, and participation by all customers within Bridgeland (residential and commercial) is mandatory.

Pertinent Stage 2 restrictions are summarized below, while the appendix to this letter contains more specification provisions included in the DCP. The complete DCP can be found on the MUD websites at www.bridgelanddistricts.org.

  • Limit irrigation of landscaped and other areas to the following days:
    • Sundays and Thursdays for Retail Water Customers with an Even-Numbered Address, and
    • Saturdays and Wednesdays for Retail Water Customers with an Odd-Numbered Address.
  • Limit irrigation of landscaped and other areas to between the hours of 8:00 p.m. on the designated watering day(s) and 6:00 a.m. on the following day(s).
  • Limit other non-essential uses per the appendix to this letter, including:
    • Decorative or recreational water usage (fountains, pools, etc.), and
    • Washing vehicles.

Please be advised, Stage 2 will go into effect Thursday, August 31, 2023. Failure to comply may result in surcharges.

Additional notification to residents will be distributed as and if Stage 2 of the DCP is rescinded or if conditions require implementing Stage 3 of the DCP. If you notice irrigation of road medians, parks, or other open spaces outside of the days/times referenced in this notice, please do not be alarmed. These areas are irrigated with water from a separate, non-potable water system that follows different drought management measures.

Please reach out to Inframark’s Customer Service department at (281) 579-4500 or visit your MUD website at www.bridgelanddistricts.org should you have any questions or concerns.

Urgent Community Alert: Water Conservation Needed Due to Unexpected Power Outage at Treatment Plant #2

Dear Bridgeland MUD Resident,

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Water Treatment Plant #2 began experiencing power related issues due to a bird flying into the power line. The partial power failure has caused a reduction in groundwater production capacity and results in low water volume and pressure throughout the community.

We are currently working with Centerpoint to resolve the issue. While repairs are underway, we kindly ask the community to be mindful in conserving water. Water Treatment Plant #2 currently provides water to Harris County Municipal Utility District’s No. 419, 489, 490, 491, and 493. Please be advised, there are no health and safety concerns.

Additional notification will be provided as circumstances return to normal operations. Please reach out to Inframark’s Customer Service at (281) 579-4500, should you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Mackenzie Osborne
Account Manager

  • Limit irrigation of landscaped and other areas to the following days:
    • Sundays and Thursdays for Retail Water Customers with an Even-Numbered Address, and
    • Saturdays and Wednesdays for Retail Water Customers with an Odd-Numbered Address.

  • Practice water conservation and minimize or discontinue non-essential water uses.

Compliance with the above measures is voluntary under the current Stage 1 conditions. We hope that by following these measures, Stage 2 conditions may be avoided or delayed.

Bridgeland Planned Outages

Dear Harris County MUD #489 Resident,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Harris County MUD #489, we are reaching out in advance to make you aware there will be a scheduled water outage due to installation of a new generator at Water Plant #2 on Saturday, May 8, 2021. It is required that all power to the Plant be shut off while work is performed thereby interrupting our ability to provide water. The water will be off approximately 6 hours with service being restored as soon as possible.

An additional planned outage will take place on Saturday, May 15, 2021 as the Water Plant will be transferred from a temporary to permanent power source. The water will be off approximately 6 hours with service being restored as soon as possible.

Please reach out to Inframark’s Customer Service at (281) 579-4500, should you have any questions or concerns.

Automated Meter Reading

Eye On Water Customer Handout (PDF)

Dear Harris County MUD No. 489 Customer,

The Harris County MUD No. 489 Board of Directors have approved for your water meter to be changed out to an Automated Meter Reading (AMR) water meter.  The AMR system allows residents the tools to see their daily use and set up parameters for alerts. Leaks can be detected early on, as opposed to waiting for resident to receive their bill with high usage.

Beginning March 2021, Inframark will convert Harris County MUD No. 489 meters to the AMR devices. The project will take place over the next 9 months and is projected to be complete by November 2021. We thank you for your patience and hope you enjoy the benefits of the new AMR meter.

Inframark – Water & Wastewater Service Update

Inframark is working diligently to ensure water and wastewater services remain online.

Due to the inclement weather, power outages and equipment failures are happening throughout the area. Dangerous road conditions are also creating a challenge to access some facilities. Our dedicated team is working on resolving issues as promptly as possible.

Inframark’s Customer Call Center is experiencing similar power and internet service issues that many are seeing throughout Texas, as we are unable to consistently take calls.

At this time, no accounts are being turned off for delinquency due to the extreme weather event.

Boil Water Notices are in effect for HC419 and HC489. If your matter is life threatening, please call 911.

We will update the website when the Boil Water Notices are no longer in effect.
