As part of the AMR conversion project, The Harris County MUD No. 489 Board of Directors elected to change out 135 meters per month. Addresses are pulled and sent to the field staff in phases, which correspond to the schedule. The schedule is based on available meters, and meter sizes.
Currently, when meters are upgraded, residents receive a door tag (if customer contact cannot be made) directing them to the HC MUD 489 website (www.hcmud489.com). The website contains literature regarding how to set up an EyeOnWater profile and utilize key features available on the platform.
As a courtesy to residents, the Harris County MUD No. 489 Board of Directors have elected to share the phase list of street names to help prepare and provide notice as to which streets have been upgraded or planned for changeout. The street names are organized alphabetically, and by meter size. The yellow highlights indicated the streets that have most recently been sent for scheduling and will be updated at the beginning of each month. The blue highlights represent streets that have been completed.
Please note, due to supply/chain issues as well as other unplanned extenuating factors, it may sometimes take longer for your meter to be upgraded though it appears to be recently scheduled. Additionally, if some meters are changed on a street, but not others, it may be due to meter sizes.
Please forward any questions or concerns to Mackenzie Osborne at mackenzie.osborne@inframark.com.
Sincerely,
Dr. Anthony McBride

Dear Harris County MUD #489 Resident,
On September 24, 2021, Harris County MUD 418 public water system, (PWS) ID 1013329 planned to convert four sections of Harris County MUD 489 served by Water Plant #1 to Water Plant #2. The goal is to provide demand relief at Water Plant #1. While performing the work, we came across a valving issue and ceased work for time to investigate, correct the problem and reschedule.
The main difference between the two sources is the required disinfectant. Surface water requires chloramines (a mix of chlorine and ammonia), while groundwater calls for free chlorine. Public water systems are required to properly disinfect their water and maintain an adequate disinfectant residual in the distribution system. Free chlorine is widely used as a disinfectant because it persists for long periods, while also limiting the formation of disinfection by-product contaminants.
At this time, the issue has been resolved and the conversion is set to take place on Friday, October 8, 2021. During this period, you may experience taste and odor changes associated with this type of disinfectant conversion that may last up to two weeks. While we do not anticipate any service outages during this transition, please be prepared for unexpected disruptions between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
The sections that will be affected include:

Dear Water Customer,
On September 22, 2021 Harris County MUD No. 418 rescinded Stage 2 of its Drought Contingency Plan (“DCP”). With the recission of Stage 2, Stage 1 of the DCP went back into effect. The target for Stage 1 is a 10% water usage reduction through voluntary means. At this time, the goal has been achieved and the DCP is no longer in use.
Though the restrictions are no longer in place, we encourage residents to continue irrigating on alternate days (Even addresses Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday; Odd addresses Saturday, Monday Wednesday). For more information on how to program your sprinkler controller, please visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUoir-wk2Yc or your MUD District websites (hcmud419.com or hcmud489.com).
The District would like to thank residents for their cooperation.
Please reach out to Inframark’s Customer Service department at (281) 579-4500 if you have any questions or concerns.

Dear Water Customer,
On August 30, 2021 Harris County MUD No. 418 implemented Stage 2 of its Drought Contingency Plan (“DCP”). The target for Stage 2 is a 20% water usage reduction through restrictive measures and community participation. At this time, the target goals in reducing the daily water demand as set forth by the DCP Stage 2 have been achieved for 7 straight days and we can rescind water use restrictions, per TCEQ.
Please be advised, with the recission of Stage 2, Stage 1 of the DCP goes back into effect. As a reminder, the target for Stage 1 is a 10% water usage reduction through voluntary means. The District would like to thank residents for their cooperation.
Though the Stage 2 restrictions are no longer in place, we encourage residents to continue irrigating on alternate days (Even addresses Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday; Odd addresses Saturday, Monday Wednesday).
